If The Incredibles 2 was a cash-grab it would've come out in 2006 and by 2018 we would've been on The Incredibles 7. The fact that Brad Bird was so deliberate in waiting to tell a meaningful second Incredibles story while Pixar pumped out multiple Toy Story, Monsters Inc, and Cars sequels, tells you that it was 100% NOT a cash-grab.

Its funny, Jim Carrey’s best movie, in my opinion, is not a comedy, but a melancholy drama.

Answer me right now how it was obvious Finn was going to tell Rey she was a Palpatine. Tell me now. Even assuming Finn somehow found out she was a Palpatine, which we are given no reason to believe he did, why would THAT be the thing he wants to tell her when he thinks they're both about to die? I snuck watched this behind the couch when my parents saw it (i was 8 in 1998 if that gives you my age) and the part where Anuck Su Amun comes back momentarily in the beginning scared the shit outta me. Took me years to watch thus gem. And its now one of my favorite movies

Superman literally does everything he can in that battle and it falls on deaf ears. Until with what he accepts as his dying breath he asks his Killer to save someone Else. Regardless of her name, and even before Bruce learns that was his mothers name, Batman stops cold. Superman basically said "Kill me but save the woman I'm doing this for. Her name is Martha." Making the argument that the battle ends (and they became best friends) because of an epic name coincidence the single stupidest criticism ever. Come to think of it, who says they're actually friends afterwards? They need to save Martha and stop Doomsday and work together to do that.

i know its been a year since this video posted but some of my favorite parts of the film are the cut scenes & montages, where a majority of them were actually created by the editors over zoom which you can see for split seconds in the montage clips

Believe me, my mum was great, but she clearly FORGOT about what it is to be a middle schooler when I was that age. Plus, she would go through my things a LOT, and she did it until I was 16. So, that scene was extremely relatable for me, I laughed and suffered through it at the same time. But that's very on brand for Latino mums, my friends had a similar reaction. Don't worry though, a year later I was brave enough to talk about certain boundaries with her. Also, as I got older, it wasn't really a frequent occurrence, because, well, I made sure of it. She had to learn that if she didn't learn to trust me, she would lose my trust in her. There are a lot of similarities between Asian and Latino families, I learnt with this movie, but, a big difference would be that on the long run, parents tend to be more open to "criticism" here, and get more communicative. I mean, we do get to fight hard as adolescents with them.
